I updated my OC's appearance (mainly the hair and piercing), and yes, I did tried something a little different when I was working on it. I tried finishing it off like how I normally do with my other artwork, with lineart but I also wanna draw him without lineart and a bonus background. I think both look okay but you guys should be the judge, which one is better? with lineart? (left) or without lineart? (right)

The reason why I tried drawing and colouring it without lineart is to create that semi-realism style that I see many artists and deviants do in this website and I just wanna practice that style (like my Vincent and Dahlia artwork.). It was also because I wanna make my style similar to those artists (specifically sakimichan ) because when I compare their work with mine, my artwork looks crap and very amateur like. As an artist, I feel the need to improve and take risks in trying new things and I am aware that you need to put a lot of effort and time into making the image look perfect, not to mention the details as well. 

But then again, I don't know if I'm suitable enough to create such a style and I'm in a dilemma whether I should continue doing my own style or improve. 

You guys can be the judge, what do you think?
